Xeomin is FDA approved to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. It is also used to improve the appearance of crows feet. One brief treatment consisting of multiple tiny injections is all that is needed. The results then occur over the next 2-7 days.
Though recently approved for use in the United States, Xeomin has been used cosmetically worldwide for many years.
Side effects include site redness, bruising, or swelling and eyelid drooping and are temporary.
Botox® cosmetic is approved for the temporary treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people ages 18 to 65.
One 10-minute treatment, a few tiny injections and within days there’s a noticeable improvement in moderate to severe frown lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows and in the crow’s feet which can last up to 4 months. It is virtually a painless procedure, similar to tweezing eyebrows.
Unlike surgery, Botox® Cosmetic is fast, simple and minimally invasive with no downtime or recovery. Most people return directly to work or normal activity following treatment. Botox® Cosmetic is not magic, it’s medicine, the result of years of careful research and testing.
Side effects include temporary eyelid droop, as well as localized pain, bruising or swelling at the injection site.
At Accent Aesthetics, board certified Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Nicola DeLorio will provide a personalized consultation to assess if Botox® Cosmetic is an appropriate treatment for her patients.
In addition to using Xeomin® & Botox® for wrinkles in the forehead, glabella and crows feet, many patients use Xeomin® & Botox® in less common areas such as:
- Upper lip lines
