Laser Hair Reduction

– All areas of the body   – All skin types   – Cost effective   – No down time

You can eliminate unwanted hair faster and more effectively with Cynosure laser treatments.

To eliminate hair, a laser emits gentle pulses of energy that pass through the skin to the hair follicle. This energy is then absorbed into the hair follicle to destroy it so that hair can never grow there again. The treatment causes only minimal discomfort. Patients say it feels similar to the snap of a rubber band. Slight redness or localized swelling can occasionally occur, but this usually subsides within the first 24 hours after treatment.

Typically patients will see complete results in 6 treatments, though this number will vary based upon skin tone, hair color and several other factors. Dr. DeLorio will talk to you about variables that may affect your individual results.

At Accent Aesthetics, we have two types of lasers, providing the gold standard in hair removal. There are many lasers that remove hair, and not all are created equal. At Accent Aesthetics, we perform laser hair removal on all areas of the body and on all types of skin (even tanned or dark skin). Unfortunately, there is no laser that can eliminate blonde or grey hairs.

Dr. DeLorio will assess your skin type and hair and determine the best course of action for your needs. At the time of your consultation, we will review in detail what you need to do to obtain the best results. Prior to your consultation, it is important to avoid sun exposure as this may delay the start of your treatments. It is helpful but not necessary if you shave the area to be treated 2 days before the first consultation (please avoid waxing or plucking of hairs).

 Spider Vein Removal

– Removes leg and facial veins   – Helps you get back to wearing shorts and bathing suits again  – Simple treatment

Red, blue or purple leg and facial veins can be a result of sun exposure, use of oral contraception, hormone therapy, age or genetics.

A Cynosure Elite Yag laser emits a prescribed dose of energy to the vein while sparing surrounding areas. After treatment, the vessel will naturally disappear.

The treatment causes only minimal discomfort. Any redness or swelling should be gone within a day and you will be able to resume normal activities immediately.

Typically only two treatments are required and results can be seen in 3-4 weeks. Treatment time usually varies between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on the size of the area treated. Dr. DeLorio will consult with you to determine if this course of treatment is appropriate for you and review the risks and restrictions involved.

Pigmented Lesion Removal

– Effectively treats benign pigmented lesions including discolored spots, freckles and sun-damaged skin areas.   – Removes lesions you were born with or acquired later in life   -Safe procedure yields quick results

Selective absorption of laser light pulses by melanin- containing skin cells causes the targeted cells to scatter and degenerate while significantly decreasing potential damage to surrounding tissues. The dead cells are then removed from the skin by the body’s immune or lymphatic system.

Overall, treatments are gentle and mild, causing only slight discomfort with minimal side effects, such as temporary redness.

The number of required treatments is dependent on factors such as lesion depth and size. However, most people with dermal lesions need three to four treatments and begin seeing results after only one or two sessions.

Although treatment sessions are scheduled approximately four to six weeks apart, no rest or recuperation time is required after each visit. You will immediately be able to resume normal activities without restriction.

Typically found on the face, shoulders and other exposed parts of the body, benign pigmented lesions include everything from bluish/purplish, black or otherwise discolored spots to freckles and sun-damaged skin areas. If you have any such benign conditions, chances are you are a candidate for treatment. Via a personalized consultation, Dr. DeLorio will determine if laser lesion treatment is the best course of treatment for your personalized needs.
